Before I get too far I want to thank Graham Hancock for his diligent effort in putting together a fine piece of literature in, "Magicians of the Gods". I lived in the area of the Clark Fork valley for a few years and had a conversation with a dear friend of mine there that was a recreational gold prospector and he passed on to me some information I didn't put too much value in until Randall Carlson and Graham Hancock got together and hypothesized this cataclysmic event that occurred in the Pacific Northwest. My friend told me he was finding gold deposits in alluvial layers 1100 feet above the river valley where the Missoula Sea flushed through 12800 years ago. Now, it staggers my mind how enormous this event was and how widespread it now is suspended in further discoveries else where on the globe.
With that in mind I want to throw out there a topic to discuss that uses this perspective of enormity as a suggestion of fact. This is a topic that was brought to light by Dave Truman who authored an article in this website called, Ancient Alignment In The Andes Hints At A Lost Global High Culture be sure to read it. In that article he revealed a lot of information that centers on Tiwanaku, Puma Punku and Pukara Grande. He mentioned in his writing that there were a number of saline lakes and salt deposits throughout the altiplano. Nearly two hundred miles inland from the coast. He mentioned the possibility of a tsunami that may have been the reason these salt deposits exist. I have no doubt this to be true.
It got me thinking so I opened up my google earth and keeping in mind what physical evidence I had witnessed in the Pacific Northwest this thought didn't seem out of line at all. If one looks closely at the area of interest, Chilean/Peruvian Coast, Tiwanaku, you will notice this area is basically a 160 mile wide beach. At the upper reaches of this barren, scoured landscape you can see very plainly "riffles" running parallel to the coast created by the tsunami as it receded back to it's origins, an ocean that was 400' shallower than present day. At the shoreline you can see plainly the runnel created by the rushing waters plunging back into the ocean carrying with it everything in it's path. Impossible? If you see the evidence that Randall Carlson has pointed out in the Pacific Northwwest flood you will buy into this without a second thought. This also would explain the widely spread saline lakes and large salt flats that dot the landscape well within this tsunami's two hundred mile long path inland. A comet fragment the size of the one....or one's that impacted the ice cap 12,800 years ago in the North American Continent could also have created a tsunami that breached the 12,000 foot elevation of the Bolivian Coast with a like impact in the Pacific Ocean. If you look at the Atlantic Ocean you will not see this runnel anywhere, so the argument that this runnel I've pointed out is simply overthrust is not relevant.
I want to point out for perspective as well, the enormity and scale of this impact that occurred on the North American Continent by inviting one to visualize that period of time that passed that the Inca, Aztec and Mayans, the Olmec were building advanced architecture, understanding astrology to the point of developing calenders capable of predicting alignments. The sciences and even a written glyphic language were evident but at that same period of history the 1st Nations of North American Continent were still living in the Stone Age right up to the time of the European occupation. How could there be so much contrast in cultural levels other than by way of the "clean slate" devastation brought on by Carlson/Hancock hypothesis of cataclysmic impact. And to my benefit why would this also explain the disappearance of the complex buried beneath Tiwanaku and Puma Punku. Was this ancient civilization that may have been influenced by Sumerian knowlege evidenced by the Fuenta Magna Bowl discovered near the site of Tiwanaku? The North American 1st Nations were the re-inhabitors of the Continent and they certainly had help from the Mayans as there is evidence of Mayans in southeastern United States and there are traces of Mayan DNA in a number of descendants of this region of the US today.
After we've cleared the air of arrogant assumptions, back burner discoveries, and closed minded scholars will we begin to uncover more pieces of the mankind puzzle of the lost civilizations. We can't afford to have evidence buried not just by earth and rock but by closed minds and the science clubs of elite deniers. Before you open the ground, open your mind to the possibilities.
