Dear Graham,
In your Magicians of the Gods and some of your talks you mention that after a comet/asteroid impact on North America, 12,800 years ago, most of the planet --if not all, was covered in ice because of the cooling effect of the aftermath. And then that around 11,600--according to the year given to Plato by Solon, a very advanced civilization was wiped from an island (The Atlanteans) by a flood. Are we then assuming that the Atlanteans came to life and developed their knowledge and technology in a period of only 1,200 years? Isn't that too little time for a civilization to flourish and then be wiped out again?
On regards to Göbeklitepe: Is it really humanly possible to bury practically a whole mountain without any seriously big and heavy machinery? The professor you were with at the site in 2013 (Claire Smith), says that there are fifty times more the number of structures buried in the site, but that it did not look like a natural sediment, but rather a deliberate burying. How and who managed to bury that impossible amount of structures?
What are your thoughts on these two questions?
Best regards,
BA.
