The mudhif is a structure built of reeds still made today in southern Iraq seemingly little different than it has in the region for over 5,000yrs:

Though almost certainly much older in one form or another, depictions of mudhifs have been found in Mesopotamia since the late Uruk Period c.3300BC. Some examples prior to 3,000BC:
In Egypt, other than the palace face building, there are several other types of structures depicted in 1st Dynasty writing that appear to be of a different construction type giving the distinct impression unlike the PFB they are not made of mud brick.

I am left to wonder given the noted connections between the two at this time if there are any direct parallels, if not between the structures themselves, the construction methods.
