New Archaeoastronomy at the Great Serpent Mound (2 replies)

I have a theory concerning the Great Serpent Mound in Ohio. Considering the Serpent Mound is a true solar symbol, I constellation to represent the mound should also interact with the sun on the solstices. The Constellation Hydra does just that! Just like the head of the Serpent Mound points to the setting sun on the summer solstice, the Constellation does the same. Furthermore, the spiral tail of the mound points to the setting sun on the winter solstice. The tail of Hydra points to the rising sun on the winter solstice. Perhaps the mound was changed at some point in favor of the later alignment.
