Diodorus has a story about Myrina and the Amazons conquering the Atlantians. It is totally foreign to Plato's tradition and generally dismissed by Atlantian Scholarship.
The key finding to take from this version is the home city of the Atlantians:
"Upon entering the land of the Atlantians they defeated in a pitched battle the inhabitants of the city of Cernê, as it is called, and making their way inside the walls along with the fleeing enemy, they got the city into their hands; and desiring to strike terror into the neighbouring peoples they treated the captives savagely, put to the sword the men from the youth upward, led into slavery the children and women, and razed the city."

This city Cerne, is pretty much not mentioned by other Greek Historians. Unless you take into account spelling variations. :)
The city name appears in Prometheus Bound, in the story of Io, which is placed in the time-frame of Ahmose and the Hyksos. In that story Phonecian Pirates called: "Karnites" (ie. from Karne) abduct Io and bring her to Egypt. So Cerne vs Karne.

The Egyptian also recorded the name of this city. Ahmose, after conquering Avaris, left Egypt and defeated the Hyksos in there home city of Saruhen, or Sarhena. This is the same place.
So 3 spellings: Cerne vs Karne vs Saruhen.

Now I'll go out on a limb(so you can ignore this next part). This city is in the Bible as well. It was the home of the Tower of Babel(which isn't in Babylon, btw). The tower of Babel was supposedly located in a place called, "Chalane" or "Calneh"
So that is spelling 4 on Diodorus' Atlantian Home City: Cerne vs Karne vs Saruhen vs Calneh.
Babel is closer to Byblos, my friends, rather than Babylon. Just as Shinar, or Sangar, is around Mt. Lebanon, and not Sumeria. Mount Hermon=Shenir/Shinar.
