What is the accepted age of Gobekli Tepe?
I ask because the figure of 12,000 years old is widely used, and yet the wikipedia page seems to use two different, and substantially lower, figures.
It's important to distinguish between the age the site was built, or used, and the time that it was filled in since it might help explain why it was filled in (e.g. preservation in light of some forthcoming disaster). Carbon-dating would determine when it was filled in, but that could have been longer after it was built.
