I have recently been studying gensis and came upon something rather interesting. If you are to translate Cain to English it can mean the word Smith or "to make"
And if you translate the name Abel it can mean Air.
Is it possible that this could mean long long ago with the first men there was an industrial revolution that went on to bring global warming
God had made the fields not able to yield fruit after abels murder. There are a few other things in the story that could represent a major catastrophe brought on by man, perhaps not ten thousand years ago but perhaps even farther back, to a point that the world recovered.
