Would you like to see pi in the pyramid? (2 replies)

It is a simple enough exercise that everyone is capable of performing, yet the only thing stopping exact pi being accepted in the pyramid is the exercise not being done.

Would anyone care to try it for themselves? It is simple enough…and you can do it with a cross-section of the pyramid instead of its 3D version.

Take pi and multiply it by 7 then by 100 to get 2,199.1148757, and measure up from the base on the pyramid’s axis in inches and construct a circle. It perfectly touches the base and sides...well, it does because of the inset of the middles of each side being about 37” according to Petrie, but 34.7” according to this exercise. The extension of this finding is that where the circle actually touches the sides is 3,599.958” above the pavement. If you use an architectural program, such as SketchUp, you can make a sphere instead.

I don’t suppose anyone would like to test this for themselves and really see that it exists? If not, then all you’re doing is ignoring such a thing, which would be a real shame for how folk approach the specifics of the pyramid.

Of course, this is done with a base of 9068.8” and height of 5,776”. If you have more preferred dimensions, then the inset is very slight from 34.7” while 2,199.1148757 and 3,599.958 remain the same.

Good luck with your amazed confirmation, and what it does to your own work in playing with the pyramid and ancient things.
