Water for the Giza Complex (15 replies)

Finding water for the Giza Complex.

Things have changed dramatically, since I made my first terrain maps, revealing the possibility that the AE had water, which flowed down from the mountains directly behind the Pyramids. My last Topo showed the possibility of a water ditch, much of which, may have eroded away, as it runs along the plateau's edge. The Dark Blue is all the same elevation, within 5-10 feet. The adjacent colors grow in height. Note, it runs out from the Giza Plateau, and is headed up towards those higher areas which, even today contain water. Google Earth: Egypt 6th of October, which is only 11 mile from the Pyramids, at a higher elevation. You should see water.

If the AE had water, they were able to employ it in doing heavy lifting. There is a steep grade next to G1, as well as, the G1 Causeway. We are all familiar with the G2 Causeway, and less so concerning G3, all of which are running downhill.

I will be purchasing this Photoshop plugin. It is inexpensive. I mention this, as you may have an interest. Be aware, Egypt considered this area of military importance. The city, 6th of October, was named after winning a military conflict. Google Earth once provided better detail. The Egyptian Government asked Google, to lessen their degree of imagery. They complied. To the best of my memory, other (birds) satellites exist, who still provide greater detail. I am not sure if that has changed, as well? 15 backed off to 30, backed off to 60 feet?

I hope to produce colored 3D terrain maps of the area(s) encompassing the Giza Plateau and up to the 6th of October City, 11 miles uphill behind the Pyramids. It will contain no modern day buildings. Even today, there are areas which contain large amounts of water. 4,000 years ago, the area was wetter, and reason dictates, there would have been even larger bodies of water.

If you share my interest, and can aid in this research, please let me know.

The Pyramids are in the upper right hand corner.

Closeup shows only G2 & G3
