Colossi of Memnon inside? (1 reply)

Recently I attended my frequent visit to Egypt, and come across something strange whist in Luxor, Colossi of Memnon.
I Have no idea if this is relevant but I have attempted to find an answer my self and unfortunately stumbled upon dead ends.
I am hopping someone can shed some light on this.

In the photos below there are photos of an Egyptian worker climbing inside the Colossi of Memnon. He seemed to have disappeared for around 7 minutes.
Whilst outside he also seemed to have been talking to someone within inside, but as far as I am aware this is a statue build from a solid piece quartzite sandstone.
