I have been a reader of many of Grahams books and similar publications/ideas such as those put forward by Michael Cremo etc for many years and have done my own research into human origins, untold history out of place parts etc.I put forward my own view here in what I personallY perceive as closer to the truth of "things". I have no doubt that an "advanced" Civilisation existed in the past(lost through worldwide massive destruction) -currently unrecognised by main stream science, advanced no doubt in technology but also in the arts, morality, culture and body -soul relationship-more akin to plato's dialog relating to Atlantis and its peoples(Atlantis being only part of a much larger civilisation). One of the larger talking points about these ideas and theories being put forward is to do with time-how far back did human history go,how did it "evolve",where did it come from. Two important points here -Dating time-There are a number of techniques used for measuring the age of things, radio carbon dating has been shown to have many anomolous readings many times due to contamination, reliance on carbon to be consistant throughout history or even outright changing of data.Any other methods are also based on the assumption that the steady state theory applies -that things were the same throughout earths history-If you assume, you make an ass out of you and me.Too many variables have changed throughout history to assume they were the same in the past as are now. Time especially in the western world is viewed as a linear progression, many other cultures especially in the past have viewed time as cyclic, although recently some physicists have put forward new theories about the "big bang" as being a continuous cycle of "big bangs".Michael Cremo's ideas based on Indian Vedic tradition probably come closer to the truth although the hypothesis that humans "evolved from a higher consciousness is in my opinion coloured with religious fervour. I believe human beings were always human beings-at a higher level of understanding and consciousness in the distant past, but the law of entropy applies to everything in the physical world and man and civilisations fall like everything else. I know their will be sceptics to this but everything is involved in a cycle even time. This is the only thing that can maintain life."There are more things on "Heaven" and earth" than we will understand but with the continued searching for truth as graham Hancock and others like him continue to do the more we will understand our true selves and our true past and our future.
