Among the artefacts delivered to the Grand Egyptian Museum this month, was a copper Djed Pillar extracted from the Khufu II boat pit. Little fanfare accompanied what would appear to be momentous discovery, mentioned only in passing regarding the latest delivery of restored wooden ship components. Also mentioned, ”a rare knife”; so little press for such singularly unique relics.
