From the boxes at the serapeum of saqqara to the hard stone sculptures which are believed to be from the time of the sep tepi or before the YBI event, these objects simply have no words or language that can be seen other than the "chicken scratch" hieroglyphics of the dynastic Egyptians.
Would it appear then that hieroglyphics are simply the creation of the dynastic Egyptians and not the language of the ancients?
What was the language of the ancients(?) It's anybody guess and while I agree that it existed (The ancients) I find this one thing more frustrating than not knowing how they planned to lift a few hundred tonnes.
I know Solon was told "And this was not known to you because for many generations the survivors of that destruction made no records."
Does this explain the lack of a written language on objects and sculptures?
What am I missing here?
