Hello first time poster. And a hobby history geek. I just listened to Gramham Hancock on joe rogan experience the first episode 872. After listening to the podcast i felt exited and baffeled. And i could not stop thinking about the cause of the adrupt ending of the last ice age. And if the floods resulting from that event actually can explain all these myths in different cultures all around the world.
But one thought kept my mind running.
Possibility of Antarctis super vulcano eruption?
About the meteorite that melted the ice acording to Hancock. What if it actually was the super vulcano underneth the Antarctis ice cap. I did a quick google research while pondering what else could have caused such a violent change in climate all of a sudden. And i started thinking about the fact that iceland is a very vulcanic area of the world. And what if there was more vulcanos further north. And that search lead me to an super vulcano more powerful that the yellowstone super vulcano. That seams to be hiding underneth the Antarctic ice cap. What if this vulcano erupted 11900 years ago. Because that would explain the water vapor created by the heat. And resulted in the catastrophic rains. The rapidly melting ice. And the extreme climate change that followed. I would love to hear your thoughts about this topic. And i'm sure someone alot smarter than me has pondered the same thing along time ago and come to some sort of a conclusion. If so please let me know about their findings.
