Recent swap cast between Snake Brothers and UnchartedX about the Serapeum is another fascinating expose on the mystery of the Serapeum.

A bit after minute 37, they discuss some fairly challenging evidence.
Its clear that the space was renovated at some point, using limestone tile to surface parts of the chambers that hold the giant granite boxes. But they show that these limestone tiles have hieroglyphic writing on them, identifiable from the old kingdom, (as certain characters change over time from Dynastic to much further back into Old Kingdom). The presumption of these tiles being a part of the renovation is because the writing exposed from broken parts of them are downward facing on original bedrock floors. It demonstrates that these pieces of tile have been quarried from other Old Kingdom sites, stripped for repurposing on work like this.
So at the very least, we can presume the very youngest these granite boxes are is from Old Kingdom. But those boxes and their mysterious placement in locations that restrict the necessary space required to even move them with enough man power, clearly highlights how advanced they are. Quite easily, they indicate the highest level of technological advancement in architecture, stone work, engineering, etc, all from what is clearly proven to be from the very earliest Egyptian times, which is in itself a contradiction. So in actuality, considering technological advancement of this degree takes a considerable amount of time to progress to, and there is no evidence dating prior to the unknowable dates of Old Kingdom, it implies the period of these works is so old to have had their own history of development be completely wiped from the landscape of the planet. So old, that no materials besides rock can survive to tell the tale. Tools, machines, garbage, etc all disintegrated unfortunately.
