Hi Folks,
Inspired by recent discussions ( 'Herodotus ...' ) conducted by our colleague Jim Allison, I think it appropriate to insert some of my insights on the topic.
Quite a few years ago my studies led me into this quagmire, and what I found was/is an extensive story about how the Ancient Egyptians went about qualifying and quantifying their environment. Obviously some of the biggest questions are about what they did and when they did it, indeed, even how they did it.
For your interest, I wanted to present the beginnings of a much larger article which may hopefully shed some light on the matter. Apologies in advance if the trend is more shadow than luminance. :)
So here it is. I invite your comments and questions, if any. If none at this time, then I hope enjoyment in the reading is as suitable to your involvement:
Ancient Egyptian Iteru - New Findings on the Elusive River Measure, Part 1
Best Regards,
Avry
