Selim Hassan's Pyramidion Fragments (1 reply)

Greetings, all

Zahi Hawass mentions in one of his books in the chapter on pyramidia that Selim Hassan discovered two diorite fragments that might belong to Khafre's pyramid.

Nabil Swelim has expanded on this on several occasions. [www.bradshawfoundation.com]

As I have always wanted to have a more complete model of Khafre's pyramid than I do, I should like to know the lower slope angle of the fragments which I presume would be the outer slope angle of the pyramidion that these two fragments seem to be from.

I am not a believer that the slope angle of a pyramidion should automatically match its pyramid, or at least I believe it would be rather atypical for some of the 6th Dynasty Egyptian pyramids, and then there is the mess that Josef Dorner seemed to have made, creating a rather erroneous pyramid model by re-envisioning a particular pyramid based on the angle of its pyramidion.

One thing I'm curious to know would be whether the slope angles might have matched back in the 4th Dynasty.
(I am uncertain what to think of it but I believe Hawass has made it sound as if the slope angle of G1d's pyramidion might have matched that of the whole pyramid?)

Would anyone happen to know where there might be data on the slope angle of these fragments Hassan found, and/or where these fragments actually reside now?

A great many thanks in advance for any assistance.

Cheers!
