The inside volume of the coffer is related to the volume of the pyramid.

Go to Petrie and look at the volume of the inside of the coffer. Just follow Petrie's numbers and you will see what I mean.

According to Petrie the volume of the inside of the coffer is about 71,960 by the caliper results cubic inches or 1.17922 cubic metres or 41.6435 cubic feet.

And I reason then that is very nearly 2 1/2 tons . One average size building block. Remember the blocks that made up the pyramid were large and small but the AVERAGE is according to Petrie about 2 1/2 tons.

The inside volume of the coffer then is about the same as a block of granite weighing about 2 1/2 tons. And the coffer is made of granite.

To work out the weight of granite then it is about 2.6 specific gravity and you multiply it by the weight of 1 cubic foot of water which is 62.3 lbs.

Then granite weighs about 162 lbs per cubic foot.

Sorry to take so long with this but if you get it that is good.

A block of granite about the volume of the inside of the coffer weighs about 2 1/2 tons.

Now if you multiplied that block of granite 1.17922 cubic meters by 2,200,000 times then it is the volume of the pyramid in cubic metres. .

1.17922 x 2,200,000 = 2,594,284 cubic metres. Look at the number you are coming to 2592.

It is the volume of the pyramid in cubic Metres/feet 91,615,725.14 cubic feet

Use height of 146.6m / 481ft approx.

Many people see pyramid base as approx 230.4m

Now using Petries figures of contents 71,960 cubic inches.

Then the answer for the base of the pyramid = 230.41m / 755.936ft

You see the volume of the coffer is 1/2,200,000 the volume of the pyramid itself.

There are 2,200,000 average size blocks in the volume of the pyramid.

I think that the architects designed it to be so.

The Kings chamber connection.

Quote 'According to Petrie the volume of the inside of the coffer is about 71,960 by the caliper results cubic inches or 1.17922 cubic metres or 41.6435 cubic feet.'

41,6435 x 275 = 11,451.96759 cubic feet = volume of KC che ck Petrie's numbers

11,451.96759 x 8000 = 91,615,740.74 cubic feet volume of pyramid

Divide by height 481.25 feet = 190,370.3704 x 3 = 571,111.11

Square root = 755.7189feet base of pyramid. 230.34m
