I am researching this matter myself for over 40 years so it resonated in me very much.It seems that you came to a dead end where the advanced civilazation is concerned, which is understood because there are no remnants left to tell the story so we need to look for them in a different and unconventional way.
I have done it so I have the missing part of the puzzle.
