This is a concept, that perhaps is even more controversial that that of the cause of the Younger Dryas. It may certainly be tied in with events of the same era, and it needs a lot of further research and development.
Today I was watching a documentary about our Moon. Some think it is artificial. .It is of a specific size to block the sun exactly. The Sun is vastly larger than the Moon ― it’s diameter is about 400 times the Moon’s. But the Moon is roughly 400 times closer to Earth. It is about 1/4th the diameter of the Earth. Another perfect size. it has many anomalous aspects to it. These two ratios of 400 to 1 and 4 to one have a big influence upon solar and lunar eclipses. It is well accepted that the earth didn't always have a moon. But when did the moon arrive ? It is simple to think that the Moon arrived in very ancient times, but did it ?? The other question is that when the Earth acquired it's Moon, was it already pocked marked and blasted by many thousands of meteor impacts ? .
I did a cursory search.... and discovered that there a lot of text from ancient historians documenting that the Moon was not always present.
So here is my crazy question..... was the moon placed into orbit to shield the world from the Leonid meteorites ? At the very least, even if it wasn't deliberately placed, did it function as a shield to the Earth of the meteor storms and that is why it looks so beat up and the Earth although scarred here and there, does not?
