Hello all, behind my house, about a mile from where I live in highlands NJ their is a hiking trail that used to be inhabited by the Delaware Native American Lenapes. In that location On google maps I found an aerial image etched into the mountain of a Native American Man.

There are actually dozens of images of different animals, faces, skulls, etc in Monmouth county NJ but this was the most defined and unaltered. The trail is Hartshorne named after the colonial that purchased in the land from the Native Americans. You can even hike along this trail and still find many old artifacts.
I was actually looking for places infamous capt kid might of burried his treasure lol. By a stroke of luck I guess I was looking at the image long enough and this face just popped out. After seeing it, you cannot unsee it. However, everyone I knew thought I was Insane, and I couldn’t get anyone to recognize. That was until I lined out the image for them.
I didn’t do the best job and in fact I think I made some mistakes in the lines I highlighted as well as missed some areas, but It’s good enough to see what I’m seeing
The coast looking out towards NYC has another face l believe wearing the coyote headpiece. There are again many many many more images, including a gorilla, which makes me wonder and gives a slight clue into where these native Americans of NJ might of come from.
I hope someone much smarter than me, can take what I’ve started and really run with it. I just want people to know about it, and respect the beauty and history of these original people.
PS There are a ton of letters and words, I can’t make any of them out, but I believe one sentence was “I chased hell” which is hard for me to wrap my head around considering the indigenous people didn’t speak English…so I am assuming I’m just getting that part wrong.

Again, I’m sure I’m mistaken about what it says. I thought I might as well include it though. With that being said, I looked all over the globe now and I’ve found these mysterious “letters/words” everywhere. I think there is something very special to be unpacked still waiting at someone smarter than me fingertips lol.
