Migration Routes (1 reply)

I have been a fan of Mi'kmaq writer Dan Paul, and in particular, his book, We Were Not the Savages, since I met Paul in person close to 30 years ago. I remember him saying at the time that he believed the land bridge across the Bering Strait took people both ways. If we were positing the appearance of upright hominids 100,000 years ago, I believe Paul's theory is not only true, but that there were other routes of movement to and from Turtle Island and the other continents as well, revisionist history aside. I know Africa has long been anthropologically held to be the cradle of homo sapiens, but I believe there is more to the story. I also believe the discovery of dinosaur bones by ancient peoples may account for many of the serpent and dragon motifs in many cultures. I'd love to research this stuff and still be able to buy groceries and pay the mortgage.
