A New Orion Correlation Theory (no replies)

In 1994 Robert Bauval and Adrian Gilbert wrote the best seller “The Orion Mystery” which proposed a relationship between the layout of the pyramids of Giza and the alignment of the three stars in the belt of Orion. This theory came to be known as “The Orion Correlation Theory” or OCT. The theory gained popularity amongst the general public but on closer examination the match between the positions of the three pyramids and the three stars was close but not as close as one might expect given the precision with which the pyramids were constructed.

A new analysis has shown that a much better match between the stars of Orion and the pyramids of Giza can be made when a rotational mapping is made of the stars with the plan of the pyramid peaks. In fact, there are two mappings between star triplets in Orion and the three pyramids that come much closer to a perfect alignment than the original OCT. Furthermore rather than three insignificant stars in Orion's Belt the two very close mappings below involve the brightest stars in Orion (namely the star triplets of Bellatrix, Alnitak and Saiph and Betelgeuse, Alnilam and Rigel) In these cases however, rather than a translational mapping of the stars above, down onto the pyramids below, the axiom of “As above so below” applies to the “pyramids above” mapping onto the “stars below”, after the stars of Orion have set into the western horizon and are "making their way back" through the Underworld as it were to rise again from the eastern horizon the following night. Looking down from above the pyramids, onto and through their plan, the stars of Orion match the alignment as they pass under the pyramids and Earth and as they do this the constellation of Orion and its stars are rotated which results in an extremely close match between the alignment of stars and that of the pyramids. The association of Orion as Osiris and his association with the Underworld seem to better fit this alternative alignment.
