Longyou Caves - astronomical? (1 reply)

Haven't been able to find a detailed site map of the Longyou Caves, to see how they are arranged and what not. The google coordinates also seem a bit off, but I'm not sure.

However, looking at the pictures, and seeing how the light enters the tops of the caves, and reading that there are 24 of these "grottos." I think that they could have been used for different astronomical viewing locations. I guess that the inner wall striations could have possibly interacted with the stars and moonlight in certain ways, within the Ancient Yangtze River Delta?
