Hi everyone,
I am new here but have been forever fascinated with the topic of ancient egypt. Indeed, as a child my dream job was archeologist (became a medical professional though).
Just minutes ago I finished the first season of Ancient Apocalypse and right after an original thought crossed my mind as a literal inspiration:
What if the chambers in the pyramids of Giza were bunkers to allow for a select few to survive the great flood in order for them to restart civilization?
It could be postulated, though not required for this hypothesis to work, that the pyramids were built for this specific purpose, similarly to (and likely an inspiration for) the underground cities of Derinkuyu. After all, the height, form and orientation of the pyramids were ideal to shield people from floods coming from the north.
Maybe they were not built for this purpose but just turned out to have been perfectly suitable for that usecase when the younger drias occurred.
This hypothesis would fit the civilizing hero records and would explain why egypt was such a thriving historical high culture. In this idea framework, the most knowledgeable scholars were sheltered from the apocalypse and rebuilt culture in egypt as well as travelled in all directions as soon as the resources were available for that again. What later became Sumer might have been ecologically more suitable for more vast expansion of sustainable population and the often swiped records of egyptian historical kingdoms just make contemporary archeologists and historians oblivious to earlier civilizations in egypt (post-flood and pre-sumer is meant here), as a sidenote why sumer is officially the oldest high culture.
I would love to further clarify and discuss this idea of mine here.
Looking forward to a healthy exchange.
