Rostau, the underground world of caves revealed from the sky?

An Italian team around Filippo Biondi will present the newest SAR-data in March announced by one of the team members on his Facebook Page. Since I don't know how to embed code here, I am just going to paste the raw string.

From the announcement

Key discoveries to be presented: Identification of structures, chambers, and corridors located within the Pyramid of Khafre. The identification of extensive series of vertical shafts, estimated to extend to depths of at least 1 kilometre, with each major pyramid serving as an access point to these underground systems. The discovery of vast subterranean chambers, with dimensions comparable to those of the pyramids themselves.

It will be interesting to see, if any void, architectural or accidental, they have identified inside the superstructure coincides with what caused initial excitement for Luis W. Alvarez et al. (Luis W. Alvarez, Jared A. Anderson, F. El Bedwei, James Burkhard, Ahmed Fakhry, Adib Girgis, Amr Goneid, Fikhry Hassan, Dennis Iverson, Gerald Lynch, Zenab Miligy, Ali Hilmy Moussa, Mohammed-Sharkawi, Lauren Yazolino (1970). Search for Hidden Chambers in the Pyramids. Science, 167, pp. 832-839), even though they ended up dismissing it as a false positive Muon signal against their simulated expected background (page 838).

For all those who don't understand the SAR-method, here is a synopsis:

Filippo Biondi has discovered a new satellite RADAR signal processing algorithm that makes it possible to detect a tiny Doppler signal within the bulk of a reflected satellite pulse in the Microwave spectrum. These detectable micro-motions amount to mere shivers on the ground generated by voids underground made to resonate by the sum of both natural and human-made seismic motion through the earth. The satellite flies on a near polar orbit and scans a swath of land with its surface features for about 15 seconds at a time. The composite signal bouncing back from the surface is unique to the static and moving surface features divided into 2-D pixels as the satellite sweeps by the area. These two dimensions are called range (depth) and azimuth (time along orbital path). Biondi has discovered that if you account for the change in signal for each pixel, you can subtract the still features from the total signal and obtain that portion due to surface motion...this is called sub-aperture modelling. The novelty is that his method makes it possible to use data from a single fly-over to detect these tiny interferences caused by such motion. Therefore, this is a specialized version of interferometry, i.e. looking for differences between two RADAR signals, usually collected during two consecutive fly-overs.

The way this is applied to detect resonating voids is by choosing various strings (tomograms) of pixels to localize peak intensities of surface shivers caused by these resonances underground. When you do this with several such tomograms, you can reconstruct a 3-dimensional map of the location of the voids. The validation of the method rests on the ability to identify known voids which was done in the original paper. Biondi originally developed the method to detect seismic activity in vulcanos, metal failure in ships, and dam failures before applying it to archaeology. To date, I am not aware of an official comment by Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, yay or nay, as to the findings published in the 2022 paper by Biondi and Malanga. The paper was posted here by Dr. Troglodyte, but received little attention even here, possibly because the method is difficult to appraise. But emphasis, regardless, should be on the positive controls, i.e. the ability to identify Micro Doppler signals from known voids because that is what demonstrates the validity of the method. Biondi, for example, was able to identify both the Big and the Little Void, also identified by Muon scanning and recently scoped by investigators.

I should also add that "a void" does not immediately translate into a void made by humans. Voids can be caused by natural processes, obviously, such as Karst formation. In the previous paper, the symmetry of the voids suggested to the authors that the voids inside the Great Pyramid were architectural, but I just want to point out that this is something to look out for in the data they will present.
