The Lost Inspiration that was Graham Hancock - Reincarnated? (2 replies)

Mr Hancock,

There is a problem with dealing with academics in all fields but this is about archaeology. They are cautious, as they have their professional reputation to protect. Lets remember the telescope took 200 years to be accepted, by religious professionals, to accept the sun did not go round the earth. They had to figure out a way to make the facts fit the religious frame.

The so called Hobbits in Flores for example, despite academic discovering the species, the whole idea established evolution could include recent midget cousin from a few thousand years ago, and not a few million. It was initially dismissed out of hand. The whole idea was seen as absurd until the weight of the evidence FORCED them to accept the impossible..
When you have mavericks like Graham Hancock, seeming to have unlimited time and funds, discovering and uncovering previously unseen and unknown artefacts, pioneers are bound to get a hostile reception. Academics have limited funds, cannot compete with the likes of Mr Hancock This is a blindly obvious situation that Mr Hancock is oblivious of.

This Maverick compounds the situation by daring to have ideas about his discoveries. This allows academics to belittle Mr Hancock ideas of an advanced civilisation, except without smart phone and all the technological wizardry we have today, suggest maybe these people from a Asia flew or levitated to the Americas to share knowledge - when we all know the hunter gatherers in the ICE age trundled around the northern parts of Asia unaware they have entered the Americas from the top, eating mammoths and such as they meandered down into South America where they somehow decided intuitively to build pyramids. Its what children do on the beached when small, so its inevitable pyramids are bound to evolve.

Then Mr Hancock goes round every media outlet explaining his position and moans about the profession of Archaeology. Naturally everyone but academics of worth accepts his ideas as plausible. So instead of continuing bringing knowledge to enlighten humanity, its now a game of credibility, a to elevate his academic status, to justify his efforts and achievement not realising he appears rather narcissistic, through attempting to polish his reputation. He even has the gall to attempt to debate with academics, who are saturated in obscure detail, thus undermining his ego somewhat. Why Mr Hancock bothers to argue with people who have no concept of what he is proposing , defending his ideas against established facts , is beyond comprehension.

He should ask why for thousands of years people around the world somehow managed to engineer rock in ways we cannot compete with, or match today. Hancock should be asking the question s getting the so called authority to explain – and then when they fall flat on their public face, introduce aliens for example ,and after that joke which the audience will love, then bring thing down into his area of expertise. Game set and Match! !

Pioneers do not fawn at the feet of academics, they hold up a torch for all people to see the evidence. It seems Mr Hancock feels that social acclaim, and financial success are inadequate, requiring the garnish of archaeological academic laurels too. The desire to a be accepted as equal to reputable academic has unconsciously become an unconscious narcissistic quest. Interviews are preaching from the same script, as if repetition will somehow elevate Mr Hancock to new heights of social acceptances, maybe petals strewn at his fee as he walks, his books in hand to preach to the converted, in the hope they will persuade the academic sceptics to follow too?

All pioneers, like Mr Hancock go into the unknown because they are curious, and inadvertently doing it so everyone can benefit – contributing to greater knowledge and wisdom for humanity as a whole. Seeking the hand of academic acceptance can take decades - a path many have achieved when long dead.
Mr Hancock does not have to prove anything, because he is a pioneer, he can interpret his finding how he likes, from aliens to intelligent dinosaurs who crafted the plans that primitive humans utilised under the supervision of the archaic creatures. The fact is he has found proof through existing artefacts, in and on various continents, worse investigation sunder the sea, which cannot be there at all, because academic get poor funding and the evidence is cheaper to evaluate on land.

The point of a pioneer is to get people’s interest, Elon Musk has reoriented people towards the stars again, and like him, Hancock is lighting the way for others to follow, encouraging them to pick up the torch and start discovering things no one knew could possibly exist. This sort of knowledge then starts to influence the present, changing perceptions of what we humans a really are. He knows the sea has risen 400 feet thus swamping previous human settlement, submerging evidence, and so do professional archaeologist.

For god’s sake we could not believe life could exist miles under the sea till recently, never mind possibly have evolved there, and as for plants having memory, consciousness and awareness of their environment, communicating with other species on a level us humans are just realising we do not understand. Mr Hancock is looking for a greater consciousness, a lost civilisation and does not realise it is our civilisation connected globally electronically that is lost. Hancock limits his Lost civilisation concept to the artefacts, forgetting it suggest we were once all equally connected but differently from today. Taking potions to discover his inner being or whatever appears to have blinded him to the obvious, we are all part and product of nature, not better, higher cleverer. Thinking we are separate, makes us less of a species when all life scientifically is being discovered is conscious. Mr Hancock battles with Archaeological academics, forgetting the rest of the world is at war in a similar sort of binary conflict, getting nowhere too, while destroying everything. Maybe its time, with the money, the reputation and the drive to find additions dots of evidence and somehow mange to join them, its what pioneering mavericks do. You have a reputation and maybe its time to start to really polish it, and forget about pandering to academics, who always follow the pioneers. You are wasting your energies, when you could be leading the movement of people who want to understand, as the concept of a previous joined up world, was disrupted by natural events and now we have a culture predicated on fragmentation through competition, and self gratification.

We are an evolving species, who split from out ape cousins around 6 million years ago, and I assume forced to walk on two legs, thus leaving our arboreal environment behind and having to reinvent a new culture to survive the predicament.
My inspiration of explaining the impossible started when I heard of the Island of Flores, an impossible place to sail to in a raft, because of the Indian and Pacific ocean sea current. Impossible for any hominine to swim across, walk across raft across, or even fly across with the help of some prehistoric bird or birds. They got to these islands around 790,000 to a million years before archaeologist suggest we invented boats. BUT THEY DID! So they must have has serious seaworthy craft long before 6-10,000 years ago, or maybe they walked on water like someone apparently did 2000 years ago. So sailing through impossible currents a million years ago is not a long stretch to imagine they were aware of the world long before the ICE age started, and not forgetting before modern humans evolved, tens of thousands of years later!!!!

So its about manipulating evidence, did these proto humans fly to Flores, and then start using stone tools, or what? Alien help – Archaeologist are forced to agree the only way apart from an advanced spaceship species, picking up some hairy monkey like creatures and leaving them knapping stone on Flores, grunting to each other, they must have had culture, language technological awareness and much more to get to the Flores by SEA - as any alternative idea is insane.

Maybe it time for Mr Hancock to profit from his past economic wealth and connections, maybe include archaeologists, to start to use technology to pay for sea exploration with cameras that can see though the haze and pollution and present more factual evidence

Its surely what pioneering mavericks do!
