How does the Antechamber work? (1 reply)

The Great Pyramid G1 contains an arrangement commonly know as the "Antechamber".
Many descriptions of the Antechamber refer to it as a "portcullis" security device.
It is usually depicted as consisting of three vertically sliding slabs and a fourth fixed "Leaf".

There are however functionality problems with this arrangement when viewed as a security device.

The North block and Center block provide no blocking of access to the KC. The blocks are easily circumvented when in the lowered position. The Leaf is fixed but is open at the top. If the leaf originally continued to the ceiling there is ample space between the lower leaf and the north block to determine that there is a void behind the leaf.
The roller journal housings on the west wall are irregular and not semicircular.
There are no roller journal housings on the east wall. Therefore no means of supporting rollers.
There is no extant means of controlling the rollers.
The roller journal circumference is not centered above the hypothetical portcullis blocks. (Offset roller).
The Leaf is of insufficient mass to counterbalance the three portcullis slabs.Even if geared there is then insufficient space for the required travel.

Assuming that the antechamber portcullis arrangement is not simply the product of very poor design and therefore security. (Only the southernmost block having any real effect).

How could this, very obviously highly designed space have functioned.??

Due to a lack of useful images available on the internet I took it upon myself to draw an exploded schematic of the AC.
This is a functional schematic and not to scale. The drawing was made by referencing numerous internet photographs and drawings. It is an extremely difficult space to photograph therefore if there are any mistakes or omissions please let me know and I'll rectify.

The Granite chamber consists of outer sidewalls containing an inner "Wainscott" (Decorative architectural term).
This feature is obviously designed to house a mechanism so therefore I'll refer to it as the "Chassis"
The Southern wall consists of a complex carved monoblock, making up the KC entrance, East and West Stub Walls.
The West Stub Wall provides half the southern roller journal housing.
There are four equidistant channels carved into the face of this block.
The upper portion of this block is surmounted by a short channeled extension block.
All of the above can be seen in the exploded graphics.
