Wedge marks (no replies)

When the Anciant Egyptians quarried stone for the Pyramids, we are told that they used copper wedges to carv grooves in the bedrock, placed a wooden wedge in the groove and poored water on the wedge. The wooden wedge would then expand and brake the stone away from the bedrock. These wedge marks would be seen on at lest four sides, and at least on one side of the stone. These marks must definately be visible on the stones in use, unless they were: 1. "polished" away. 2. Always placed with the wedge marks not visible.
So my ignorant question is: are these marks visible on the pyramids or elsewere?
