Hello,
I really enjoyed the book Magicians of the Gods, and want to share the following thoughts it inspired:
Question: Do we (I mean, modern society) currently have the means to detect potential earth impactors like the ones which likely caused the Younger-Dryas?
If the answer to the above is yes, do we have the means to deal with it, i.e.: avoid the catastrophic impacts? I suspect the answer is probably no.
That makes me think that the society Graham writes about - the founders of the megalithic architecture in modern Turkey, Egypt and Peru - were perhaps not only trying to send us (the people of our time) a warning, but also a puzzle to solve which might lead us to re-discover their technology and perhaps improve on it to the point where we will become enabled to deal with potential earth impactors.
What I mean by a puzzle is:
How did they move those gigantic rocks?
There are hints that sound was involved, or at least sound was a side-effect of the technology.
I have a strong hunch that the lost civilization had a technology involving inducing resonance in matter via vibration, and that we ought to be putting effort (and it seems like momentum is building) into the study of resonance, i.e.; the application of wave behaviour as it applies to all spectra (sound, light, gravity).
The recent confirmation of gravity waves’ existence is part of my present excitement about this.
I remember reading a book in the 1990’s called “Earth” by David Brin, which, looking back on it, was a very prophetic book actually; in which one of the characters develops a Gravity Laser technology using space-time resonance.
Yes that was science-fiction but I feel strongly that if we develop that line of thinking we might re-discover the technology of the lost civilization and potentially solve they puzzles they left for us.
Then we might be able to ‘pass the test’ of averting another Y-D-like catastrophe.
