The Pyramids are located on one side of the Nile, most of which are closely packed together, and within 14 miles of each other. Now why is that?

Ancient Egyptians also prized the compound, and salted fish and birds have been found in tombs of the wealthy that were sealed over four thousand years ago. Back then in the Old Kingdom, salt was harvested from lakebeds via a process sometimes referred to as “dragging and gathering.” These saltworks were known in Arabic as sebkha.[

Artisian Aquiers.

If you find an artisan aquifer, and draw water from it, it will just replenish itself, as it is the volume and pressure which stops it from welling over. There is not just one source of water for the Giza Plateau. There were many of them. So far I have Googled earth dozens of them, and still they are filled with water. Water attracts humans. They build their Cities and farms where it is green and futile.

You are viewing, a government building on the side of a large Lake/Aquifer. To date, I know it only as the "Green Belt". This body of water is approx. 200 feet in elevation above the Giza Plateau.

The water fans out as it makes it's way down to the Nile. Additionally, there are many Artisian Aquiers, which were active once, and now dried up. Those empty craters, that surround the area now, are mined for their Salt. You will see many roads in them. At some point in the past, they were all active.

This body of water is uphill behind the Pyramids, and within a day walk of 19 miles. It is adjacent to the, 6th of October City. As you proceed back down the hill you will see many more water holes still in existence, 4,500 years later. Also note how big the "Green Belt" was at one time. The area is a resort, and very beautiful.
