King Chamber South shaft - Sun or star? (no replies)

Let's take a look at the shaft data.

horizontal passage height = 1.02 m
Khufu King Chamber floor height above base = 42.997 m

South KC shaft originating height above base = 44.017 m

South KC shaft external casing stone exit above base = 154 rc = 80.628 meters

difference = 36.611 meters

length of shaft = 36.611 meters x root(2) = 36.611 m x 1.4142 = 51.776 meters

considering the height of the shaft which is 14 cm we can compute the angle of the diagonal(rectangle of length and height):

phi = tan^-1{(0.14 m)/(51.776 m)} = 0.1549 degrees = 9' 17.73"

Using Stellarium I computed the maximum height of the Sun(as it passes the Meridian in the South) as seen from Giza(Khufu pyramid coordinates) on three consecutive days. These values are in degrees:

45.235
44.917
44.604

The difference between the first and the second, and the second and the third is:

0.318
0.313

The average is:

0.315 degrees

Half of this angle with greater accuracy is:

theta = 0.15775 degrees = 9' 27.9"

The difference between the angles phi and theta is practically zero.

theta - phi = 0.0027 degrees = 10.17"

This means that the geometry of the South KC shaft was designed so as to define the time duration of half a day or 12 hours. The Sun might shine down the shaft 1 day a year, it might shine 2 days, or it might not sine down any day of a particular year.

During the day, the 12 hour period the only celestial body of possible alignment is the Sun and the only shaft of alignment is the South shaft. During the night there can be an alignment on either shaft - a pole star or a Orion belt star during the construction of the pyramids. But for an Orion alignment to take place we still need to observe it a specific time of the year.

So the question that arises is that since this south shaft defines a 12 hour period, who is to say that the alignment is meant to incorporate a star like Alnitak or Alnilam and not the Sun? In this case it whould define a particular day - date of a specific year.
