The King as Pyramid (6 replies)

I'd like this in the "Nature of Horus in the Pyramid Texts" thread but it doesn't quite fit as such.

I'm finally making more progress on the so called "cannibal hymns". Of course these have nothing to do with sun addled bumpkins' imaginary consciousnesses eating one another. Their exact intended meaning is finally beginning to resolve itself a little bit though.

The most striking line in it is one I believed I understood for a while but now I'm more certain and it is more corroboration for the concept that the king becomes the pyramid: the pyramid is the ka of the king and not his tomb.

414a. N. is as that which dawns, which dawns, which endures, which endures.
414b. The doers of evil shall not be able to destroy
414c. the favourite place of N. among the living in this land for ever and ever.

The cannibal hymns are seen from the perspective of finishing work on a pyramid and in this specific case, probably G1. The pyramid is the place of the dead king (Khufu) whom the doers of evil can never destroy. The dead king (Khufu) will live eternally as the pyramid and as a star that is a mnemonic to remember him forever.
