The G1 "Air Shafts" Consist of a flat floor block topped by an inverted "U" block.

Robotic exploration has revealed that some of the "U" blocks have been laterally displaced, causing in at least one instance, an opening in the ceiling.

Beneath the opening and locally deposited on the "Air Shaft" floor, there appears to be a pile of fine sand.
The sand has been somewhat disturbed by the robot caterpillar tracks.

Could this be evidence of more sand filled cavities alongside or around pyramid shafts?
