Global icons in Indian west coast Ratnagiri engravings (1 reply)

In response to the discovery of global icons in Indian west coast engravings at Ratnagiri, Rajapur, and Sindhudurg, noted in the 2019 April article by Bibhu dev Misra, I tested one of the artworks. The result challenges the diffusion theory ('from India to the world'); and it challenges the general scientific diffusion paradigm ('from dominant cultures to client cultures'). There are two sources for these Indian engravings, as for all artworks: innate and copied. Both are always present in cultural expressions.
Some of the Ratnagiri works are mostly imitations, notably the icons. Some are mostly original and indigenous, particularly the elephant with ‘tattoos’. The archetypal structuralist analysis is here:
