Hi all
I am hoping someone can find a pic.
Don't know how I missed this 'The Pyramids of Egypt' I.E.S. Edwards p.26 I have his 1993 edition and the plan was not found at Giza but at Meroe "by an East German expedition engaged on restoration work under the direction of F.W. Hinkle.' The plan was drawn 'on the outer face of the north wall of the offering-chapel attached to pyramid no. 8"
It is not a complete plan but "it shows a front view of the left half of the face of a pyramid from its base to the platform on which the capstone would be mounted."
The plan is drawn over an incomplete grid "On the left-hand side, which slopes inwards at an angle of 72deg 45min, there is a double line which is continued along the edge of the platform to mark a torus moulding."
Now this is an interesting piece of information as the Great Pyramid is approx. 480 feet in height Pyramid is 481.25 imperial to 280 royal cubits.. "The spaces between the forty-nine horizontal lines on the grid represent the forty-eight courses from the base of the pyramid to the platform, their total height on the plan amounting to 1.675 m."
First it is a large plan but the height 1.675 m = 5.4954 imperial feet very nearly 5.5 imperial feet 65.944 inches very nearly 66 exactly..
The base "Twelve divisions are marked on the baseline although only 5 of the vertical lines are actually drawn, in addition to the central bisecting line of the complete face of the pyramid. The eleven divisions thus indicated have a combined length of 0.578 m for half the base of the pyramid."
This is where it gets exciting as 0.578 m = 1.896 imperial feet and that is close to 1/400th the length of the Great Pyramid based on the Royal cubit of 440 or 756.25 imperial feet.
Then 756.25 / 4 = 1.890625 imperial feet 0.576 m..
And now another coincidence height if measured in imperial feet 5.5 x 16 digits = 88 and twice base of GP 880RC.
Base then = 1/200th of GP base = 3.78125 1.890625 x 2 = 3.78125 x 16 digits = 60.5 twice the perimeter number 30.25 / = 756.25.
Lastly divide base of pyramid by height 3.78125 / 5.5 = 0.6875
687.5 Saxon/Indus feet = 756.25 imperial feet 440 Royal cubits.
A photo of this drawing would be good?
