It's curious another of my heroes is associated with the great pyramids. Da Vinci drew what he thought was Herodotus' description of the machines that built G1. Of course he was as wrong about this as Newton was about the mass of the earth being encoded in the Great Pyramid. If I'm right it written in plain English under the NE corner though. ;)
The big problem with any types of "crane theory" is that lifting the stones is only a part of the battle. They also must be moved over toward the pyramid. Also no crane can account for the fact that the pyramids were built in steps or "battlements", "mounds", and various other descriptions from ACTUAL history. If the pyramids were built in steps then it follows these steps mustta been necessary to lifting stones since they can be necessary to nothing else. This makes what we already know, that they mustta used ramps, work! Dragging stones straight up virtually vertical ramps is the most efficient, best evidenced, most logical and easiest way to build pyramids. The means to build pyramids has been solved since 1989 and nobody noticed!
Maybe in a few hundred years these steps and the pyramid itself will be investigated so we can understand the people who built them. They were OBVIOUSLY a pyramid building society but the real question is why.
