Big picture (3 replies)

Hello. General big picture question that has been on my mind.

Is it the case that the numerous extraordinarily advanced civilizations around the globe who constructed megaliths and had almost unbelievable knowledge of engineering, mathematics, astronomy...simply acquired their knowledge over a long period of "natural progression of homo sapien brain power when left uninterrupted by global/semiglobal cataclysm for thousands if not tens of thousands of years? Does it make sense that there could have been such a period from say 60,000 -70,000 or more years ago to the time of the cataclysmic event(s) that occurred approx 11,800 years ago, where humans simply progressed far enough to achieve the spectacular applications of scientific knowledge that we see the remnants of today?
