The various shafts/passages/chambers fit the concept of mechanical waveguides in a multi-stage TUNED oscillator system.
The whole system of the GP culminates in the KC and tower - which I'm convinced is a [possibly tuned] 'lid' that was added progressively as the prototype was constructed and assessed.
The GG forms a number of specifically spaced waveguides increasing in frequency at each reduction in spacing.
Has anyone actually calculated the ratio of these changes in decreasing distances with height of the GG? [Harmonics??]
