Hi all,
I am new here and do not know if I put my musings and thoughts at the right place on this here vast forum, if I put it at the wrong place, please forgive me.
Recent studies concerning the Neanderthals says that they probably where highly intelligent and immensely strong compared to us, where most of us who are untrained, struggle to lift 70 kgs, its believed based on the remains that the average Neanderthal could lift aprox 3 times as much if not more.
Neanderthal genes is found in Europe and Asia, with roughly 1-3% in Europe and up to 5% in Asia, there have been other homo species in this world as well and many of us today, have genes from other not known at the moment, homo species in our genes.
Interbreeding between species seems to have occurred often as we find more and more remains where this is a fact.
Interbreeding is also a powerful evolutionary force, we have not seen and do not know how a 50/50 homo Sapiens / Neanderthal would look like for example and what such a hybrid could do.
But if we look at other man made hybrid species that exist today, for example the Liger that is a mix between Tiger and Lion we can theorize about it.
A liger is bigger than both its parents, stronger and almost look the same but not quite.
If the same applies to a 50/50 Homo Sapiens, this could explain much of the mysteries of the ancient world as we tend to look at things what we as homo sapiens can do, where as a hybrid species probably had other means at their disposal, not talking about psychic power and such other things that I find hard to believe in, but moving big things is easier the stronger you are. There are also depictions of beings that we find hard to explain, it might be them, I find it hard to believe that little green men from the Planet Grunk or whatever came here and taught us stuff, don't think they would be greeted well, however a hybrid would probably be seen as something from the gods and treated as such.
Homo Sapiens as a species are able to think out of the box, perhaps the elder races where set in their ways and with interbreeding it unlocked all the knowledge they in turn knew, but could not apply in a greater scale, like farming, instead of gathering edible plants - grow them at a field, instead searching for a cave to live in, build your own home etc.
We also do not know how many genes we would have to had in order to retain the abilities that comes with interbreeding, however I would guess that the pros and cons lasted for several millennia's, Neanderthals as a species went extinct for over 30.000 years ago and we still have them in our genes although at a small scale, but the magic number might be smaller than we think.
After the great disaster at the younger dryas, perhaps only a few of them where left that had enough genes and they where the ones who taught us.
