I wonder if any one ( especially Graham) has read the book the Maldives Mystery by the late Thor Heyerdahl. ISBN 0-04-440194-9 first published in 1986.?
Thor was also searching for early civilisations which current ( at the time) academics stated did not exist. He put his theories of a people who were navigating the globe long before the “European Civilisations” by building replcas of large reed boats he had seen depicted in many ancient hieroglyphics in Central America, the Indus Valley and Egypt. He made several intercontinental voyages and proved that ancient peoples could indeed have travelled the globe long before academics believed possible by this method. He also investigated the “fingerprint masonry” techniques - the highly skilled stone masonry common to many of the ancient civilisations - even finding similar masonry on the tiny Maldivian Islands. They pre-dated early Buddhists, Hindus, Phoenicians and may have been of Sumerian origin. He theorised that there was an ancient seafaring people, tall, white, with long beards and pendulous earlobes who created settlements in South/Central America as well as the Indus Valley, Morocco. The Maldives, India and probably elswhere - taking with them the fingerprint masonry techniques that we cannot reproduce today. His ideas are remarkable parallel to Graham’s own ideas/theories. Like Graham, Thor’s ideas were poo-pood by academics at the time!

Any thoughts anyone ??
